Making a Web Site

Web design is one of the most lucrative businesses out there. The web creator must first always have the customers’ specific needs in mind. The site layout is of up most importance and one must always know whether they will have a template which has new graphics to be added to the web design or one that is custom made. Due to the many developments and new features are being developed everyday a flash player is necessary feature on today’s web sites.

The customer may want to either have a flash menu, a short flash animation clip or may be a tiny flash banner that sweeps across the web pages. These must all be known in advance before the design process begins as they ultimately add to the overall cost of entire project. Most people will never want to be bogged down by details on how to add content on to a web site especially if they do not have an IT background. For this reason it is very important to establish what the customer will want, will they employ some one to put content on the website or will they put it up themselves. For this reason the web design should include features such as a content manager or page which can supply pages which can process electronic media. Web sites are supposed to be interactive features and for this reason the web design must have public features to enable interaction incorporated in it.

A proper design must include a member ship registration template as well as a discussion forum. A contact from will come in handy when it comes to keeping in touch with your customers or fans depending on the web sites purpose. A website search engine is a must for any one who wishes to have a successful web site in this century. RSS (Really simple syndication) news feeds might sound like a bit of a luxury but it will be a good idea especially if you want your customers to only stay on your site and not move to others as they browse on the internet. The web design must also put up a file up load feature as one may want to up load photos or documents in to the web site.

If it is a business oriented web site, then web design must have some e-commerce features such as a shopping cart as well as a database shopping cart with a credit card processing feature will not at all look out of place in your web design. The database shopping cart will eventually help you keep track of what your consumers buy the most and who buys it the most. Admiration features are always hidden far away from the view of every one else and it is important that they are not easily cracked in to. A traffic statistics report will always show the number of people who visit your web site in a day as well as an off the shelf content manager which will help you restrict certain actions from visitors of the web site. A good web design must incorporate all of these features if it is to make any head way in this competitive business environment.

Jobs in Bulgaria for Expatriates

Bulgaria joined the European Union on the 1st of January 2007 – but prior to its accession it was already a nation proving interesting particularly among western Europeans who realized that it is a nation with an abundance of natural and architectural charm and history and a country where a little money goes an awfully long way towards a high standard of living!

This peaked interest led to Bulgaria developing an exciting and dynamic property market and becoming a country with a high level of inward expatriate migration; and now that Bulgaria is in the EU it has become even easier for foreign citizens to become resident in the country and take up employment in Bulgaria. As a result of these facts, seasoned expatriates and those looking overseas for a low cost, high level of opportunity and standard of living location in which to begin a new chapter of their lives are considering moving to Bulgaria.

In terms of jobs in Bulgaria for expatriates the landscape is also changing – and certainly for the better. Before Bulgaria was considered to be an interesting country to live in there was a very small expat population which was largely centered around the capital city of Sofia or along the coast in the Black Sea tourism resorts. Employment in the capital city for English speaking expats was largely in the main embassies or with the British Council, there were some international teaching and administrative positions also available but unless one spoke the national language and was fully integrated, getting a job in Bulgaria was difficult.

Along the Black Sea coast there were more seasonal jobs available for expatriates in bars, restaurants and sectors targeting tourism traffic – however, slowly but surely as Bulgaria approached EU acceptance and the world realized the potential of the nation, the property market in Bulgaria began to boom as mentioned, and this led to an avalanche of jobs for expats. British, German and Irish expatriates in particular took up roles in the real estate industry marketing and selling property in Bulgaria – and all of a sudden there was a surge in the numbers of international expatriates employed in Bulgaria.

Now that full EU member status has been bestowed upon Bulgaria it has become easier, safer and more attractive – particularly in costing and affordability terms – for international employers to relocate to, or expand operations in Bulgaria, and so the employment landscape is changing for the better. One of the first international employers to make their presence felt is IBM. They have made a significant commitment to Bulgaria and are employing local and expatriate processionals in a whole host of departments.

The IT industry is a leading sector that is expanding rapidly, with international companies joining local Bulgarian companies and employing a growing mix of local and international staff monthly; in addition there are currently vacancies for English speaking professionals in media, PR, HR and finance sectors and the main international job website for Bulgaria has gone from having no internet presence to being less than 11,000 in the world according to Alexa Ranking – proving that interest in this country among expatriate employees is growing.

Can You Sell on eBay Full Time?

If you have done even a cursory amount of research into self employment or starting your own business, chances are you have seen and read a lot about people that have quit their jobs, or had been laid off, and found phenomenal success simply through buying and selling things online through eBay. But is it true? Is it possible to generate astronomical money through an eBay business? Can a normal person even earn an average “full time” income from such a business? It sounds a little implausible, yes, and many of the claims of seven figure profits seem like something straight out of a late night television infomercial. And while some of the claims are at least dubious, the short answer is that, yes, you can successfully bring in at least a “full time” income, if you plan appropriately, come up with a low cost, iron clad business model, and opt to sell products that are in high demand. Here are a few places you need to start to consider setting up your online eBay business.

YOUR SUPPLIER MUST BE CHEAP

If you plan to sell a particular product that you yourself will not be manufacturing, you need to line up a supplier that will give you this product at enough of a whole sale discount that you can still turn a profit by selling it online. Remember, to, that online customers already expect to get some kind of deal on eBay through you, so what ever your pricing structure is, it needs to take into account both supplier costs and how much less you need to sell below MSRP retail to move your product. If you pay attention to little else while structuring your company, perform due diligence when selecting and locating a supplier for your product, and pay specific detail to costs.

IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD WITH NUMBERS, LEARN

If you are not good with keeping accounts and crunching numbers, either learn, purchase some good quality financial planning software, or consider consulting a licensed Certified Public Accountant to help get everything in order for you before you launch your business. Hiring an accountant on a one time basis should not bust your profit margins, and can help get your business on the fast track to eBay success.

NEVER STOCK A LARGE INVENTORY

Whatever you do, if you are running a business exclusively through eBay, do not stock a large inventory. The costs associated with stocking a large inventory almost always end up sinking your bottom line into the red, especially if your business hits a road bump and you experience several weeks or months of being unable to move your product.

AVOID SELLING ‘FAD’ ITEMS

Along with the previous item, avoid stocking and selling “fad” items such as Beanie Babies or WebKinz, because unless you stumble onto a supply of them for free, they will not be popular enough for long enough to return a good profit.

A Wine Lover’s Weekly Guide to $10 Wines – A South African White Blend

We are on a bit of a roll with South African wines, both bargain and organic. They have been quite good. But such luck can’t last forever; or can it? Fairview Trust is located on the south-west facing slopes of Paarl Mountain in the heart of the Paarl wine district, one of the best in South Africa. This land has been used for winemaking since 1699, but the company has been bottling wine for some thirty-five years. Fairview also raises some six hundred goats on the property. This particular white wine is a blend of five white grapes: Viognier (64%), Crouche Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Muscat but the last two varieties account for only about 5% of the blend. This is the first time that I have ever tasted Crouche Blanc, in fact, I never even heard of it before drinking this particular wine. It’s a white variety that originated in France where it is rarely found today. You’ll see Crouche Blanc mostly in Australia and in South Africa where it may be called Cape Riesling, Paarl Riesling, or even simply Riesling. Make no mistake; Crouche Blanc is not Riesling.

Wine Reviewed

Goats do Roam South Africa 2008 13.5% alcohol about $10

Let’s start with the marketing materials. Tasting Note: Ripe and creamy, with delicious apricot, melon and peach cobble notes backed by a whiff of toast on the finish. Drink now. Score – 88. (James Molesworth, at the Wine Spectator website, June 30, 2009. And now for my review.

With the first sips I noted the wine’s bright acidity. The taste of honeysuckle was dominant. The initial meal centered around a barbecued chicken leg in a thick, paprika tomato sauce. The wine’s acidity stepped up to meet the sauce. The accompanying potatoes roasted in chicken fat intensified the wine’s fruit. With smoky tasting grilled eggplant virtually covered in garlic the wine was round and seemed sweeter.

The second meal consisted of a boxed Eggplant Rolatini stuffed with Ricotta and Mozzarella cheese and slathered with grated Parmesan cheese. The wine was light and almost feathery. It presented bright acidity and I tasted some apricots in the background. It was surprisingly long.

The final meal was also vegetarian. I started with Matjes herring that rendered the wine round with fine acidity. I noted a definite apple flavor. With green beans in tomato sauce this wine was not very present but I noted some green apples. When paired with okra in a tomato, garlic, and onion sauce the blend picked up a bit and was fairly long but did not give a lot of fruit. The roasted eggplant with lots of oil and garlic took away the wine’s fruit, just as the wine refreshingly washed away this delicious vegetable’s grease. I made the mistake of trying this wine with Haagen Dazs Mayan Chocolate ice cream. The wine was thin and had harsh acidity.

I tasted this wine with two cheeses; with the Asiago the wine wasn’t very acidic. It did have some apple and some sweetness. With a Swiss Emmenthaler the wine picked up some strength and length. This combination was fairly good.

Final verdict. Good, but not good enough. Actually, with the right pairing it’s not bad. But I have grown to expect more from South African wines.

India Emerging As A Global Healthcare Destination

Health is vital for ethical, artistic, material and spiritual development of man. It is very certain that of all the gains, the gains of health are the highest and the best. Traveling abroad for treatment has been an age-old practice. In ancient Greece, pilgrims and patients came from all over the Mediterranean to the sanctuary of the healing god, Asklepios, at Epidaurus. There were spiritual values attached to traveling for getting cured in ancient times that only a few of the privileged lot could afford. With the passage of time and the ease of traveling, people have started traveling offshore in search of faster, cheaper and safer surgical procedures.

Relatively new to the oriental part of the globe, medical tourism has been an age old phenomena in the West and has been supported by highly-developed indigenous health care systems and constant improvements in technology. By upgrading the technology, gaining greater familiarity with latest medical protocols and improving the image in terms of quality and cost, the health-care industry in countries like India and Thailand are attracting a global clientele to emerge as a top medical-tourism destinations.

In a country as diverse as India, the health care industry has capitalized on its rich cultural resource and glorious past. In sharp contrast to the generally impoverished economical background, there are private health care centers that offer sophisticated medical services, comparable to and at times even better than those offered by developed countries. A recent market study forecasts a growth from US$ 18.7 billion to around US$ 45 billion – equivalent to 8.5 per cent of GDP by 2012. India has emerged as the leading country promoting medical tourism.

India’s health care industry along with its IT and tourism sector has helped it move into the economic renaissance. It is poised to become a major driver of economic growth as first-world patients, driven out of their own systems by high costs and crowded conditions, look for cheaper places for medical care. The Government of India provides Tourist Visa of short duration and a special Medical Tourism Visa (M) of longer duration (up to 1 year) for persons. Patients are also provided Visa (MX) for their accompanying spouse coming to India for Medical Treatment. New terms such as such as health tourism, health care outsourcing and medical back office support have gained good popularity in the nation.

Medical tourism in India is a business that has been estimated to be worth $2 billion by 2012. What has been termed as “International Patient Care” is already gaining pace in the nation. Private health care units are constantly improvising their health infrastructure and attracting a regular stream of international patients by appending alluring benefits to their package. This seems quite reasonable given the rising costs of treatment in western countries along with increasing demands of an ageing population. Costs of advanced surgeries in India are 10-15 times lower than anywhere in the world that attracts patients from abroad to avail a host of arrangements at an easily affordable rate. A typical package includes air travel, local transportation, translation services, air-conditioned five-star accommodation for the patient and also for accompanying spouse or relative in many cases, together with their personalized choice of global cuisine.

From less than 10,000 patients visiting India for medical treatment five years ago, the market of medical tourism in India has taken a great leap in recent years. It is now worth US$ 333 million, with about 100,000 foreign patients coming in every year. India is well positioned to tap the top end of the global healthcare industry because of the facilities and services it offers and by leveraging the brand equity of Indian healthcare professionals across the globe. “A global healthcare destination” is what even the government is Planning to mark the nation, economic policy in this direction.

I Love Organic Wine – An Alsatian Riesling

Molsheim, Alsace is situated at the foothills of the Vosges mountains on the Alsatian Wine Road (about 20 kilometers or 30 miles west of Strasbourg). In addition to vineyards, it is home to the famous Bugatti automobile. This area is known for fine wine since the early Fourteenth Century. The winemaker’s family has been in business for three generations, which may seem like a lot to North Americans but makes them newcomers in a part of the world where winemaking generations are often counted in two figures as fourteen. Now the Alsatian wine is usually a bit 'expensive as the Riesling grape. Also, going organic is always a price. So, this wine is less than I expected to pay.

Our wine review policy all the wines we taste and review are purchased at full price retail.

Wine reviews
Gerard Neumeyer Riesling Les Hospices 13.1% alcohol about $ 15

We begin by quoting the marketing materials. Description: 2007vintage in Alsace scored an ‘A’ in Wine Spectator’s annual Vintage Report Card. While some regions were plagued with problems, Alsace had one of the longest growing seasons in recent memory, making great classic wines like this hand-crafted Riesling from a small family estate. Tightly focused with bright acidity and an expressive minerality, this wine would match beautifully with smoked fish. Our QA Laboratory has determined that this wine contains 23 mg/L of free sulphur. And now for my review.

I started by sipping the wine on its own; it seemed elegant and tasted strongly of lemon.

For the initial food pairing I went with barbecued chicken wings and breast accompanied by potatoes roasted in chicken fat. When paired with the chicken this Alsatian was quite long with pleasant acidity and a touch of sweetness. The wine’s acidity intensified to meet the grease of the potatoes. It maintained its elegance with the stronger tasting chicken leg. I got minerals and lemons. With a mixed tomato salad containing basil, the wine lost some acidity but retained its force.

In my second tasting I enjoyed a delicious Middle Eastern specialty known as Kube, ground semolina jackets filled with ground beef bathing in in a sour sauce chock with Swiss chard. The Riesling became pleasantly sour with a touch of sweetness. It was quite long. There was pleasant citrus acidity with a tinge of sweetness. When accompanying fresh strawberries the Riesling had minerality and a bit of sweetness. At first it seemed flattened but then picked up.

My final meal was a Portobello mushroom omelet with a side of too spicy tomato, onion, green pepper, cilantro salsa. The wine was feathery and lightly acidic with some lime. The wine wasn’t strong enough for the overly spicy salsa but the lime in the wine joined with the lime in the salsa.

The last act was Matjes herring and then two local cheeses. When paired with the herring this organic Alsatian presented apples and was quite long. It tingled in the mouth. This is probably the best wine that I’ve had with herring, at least in a long time. With an asiago cheese the Riesling was long showing well-balanced acidity with light fruit. The apples were green, but not too green. With a Swiss cheese the acidity stepped over the line and was somewhat harsh. The apples were still there.

Final verdict. This is one fine wine. I can’t remember when I enjoyed an organic wine as much. And the price is right. I’m going to taste this producer’s other wines.
